New Discoveries

The ride home was the most perfect I’ve felt in ages.

If I was waiting on you to have an impact, I guess the wait is over. Subconscious or not it’s there all the same. Eating away at me when I’m not looking and presenting its best toothy grin when I am.

Being mildly unaware of something so destruction for so long has the worst consequences. I’m learning mine from mistakes I never had the chance to make. Decisions I never knew existed. Thanks for throwing that on my imaginary plate.

As you waste away, I become fuller with contempt.

Can I just say I haven’t been let down by a movie in SUCH a long time. This movie was a complete let down. I had no investment in any of the characters. It wasn’t as funny as I anticipated. It was boring for the most part. It was ridiculous (Which I gathered they were actually shooting for but it didn’t come off as entertaining, only cheesy in a bad way.)

I will give props for the cinematography, costume design, and a few key performances in a few scenes.

Other than that this film was close to pure garbage.

I love the majority of the cast so much, and I think that is why I had such a hard time hating this film. I wanted to like it, I really did. I just couldn’t.

Incidentally, I was watching Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeifer on Ellen the other day, so I was expecting the cheese. They admitted the acting was purposely awful and very much exaggerated. So, going into it I knew it wouldn’t be wonderful by any stretch of the imagination. I was not expecting the acting to be one of the better parts of the movie.

They showed the funniest scenes in the trailer, as well. Which I would suggest any film maker to steer clear from. Put in a good amount of your funny and leave the rest to the people that pay to see the film in its entirety.

So, to sum this rant up. If you have been itching to see Dark Shadows, by all means go see it, but don’t set the bar high. If you saw the trailer and said, “Hey, that looks good. I think I’ll check it out.”, don’t waste your money. You saw the trailer, you really don’t need more than that, you really don’t need to sit through the rest of the movie and will your eyes not to close and fall asleep.

if i was famous i’d just tour around the country without telling anyone and go to random college campuses late at night, and i’d wait until i saw one person walking by themselves and i’d walk behind them and put my hands over their eyes and say guess who and when they turned around it’d be me and they’d be like omg and then i’d say “no one will ever believe you” and i’d just sprint off into the moonlight
